Wild Rose is thrilled to be carrying select shades from one of our favorite makers: Death Valley Nails! DVN creates unique, handmade and non-toxic nail polishes in a variety of colors. We've been big fans of DVN for some years and are excited to offer these innovative polishes to our customers.

We were first attracted to Death Valley Nails because of their Dust to Dust: Home Garden nail polish line. These polishes are colored with botanicals like beet root, dill weed and turmeric. We couldn't ask for a more fitting nail polish formula to offer alongside Wild Rose!

Of course we love all of DVN's polishes and decided to offer a few of our favorite standard shades. All of their nail polishes are 10-free and as non toxic as you can find. We're also carrying the base and top coats for long lasting color.

This March we're celebrating the 11 year anniversary of Wild Rose! The passage of time is perpetually disorienting and it feels like these past 11 years have gone by in a flash. Every year we strive to increase sustainability at Wild Rose by reducing the environmental and social impact of our products. This last year, we continued to reduce plastic packaging in our products (we're just down to a few plastic caps now!),  renewed our support of environmental, indigenous and social justice projects and found new sources for more sustainable botanicals for our formulas.

This year we plan to offer a few new products, new collaborations and expand our offerings to include other makers who share our vision (more on that soon!). Wild Rose's tattoo aftercare line include Ink Spray and Ink Balm. We like to use Ink Spray after washing for the first 1-3 days of healing. This witch hazel-based formula includes soothing lavender, cooling peppermint and precious essential oils of German chamomile and helichrysum to reduce swelling and speed the healing process. Ink Spray is finished with calendula extract made from our garden-grown calendula. Ink Spray will reduce fluid/plasma excretion during the first few days of healing and you can continue using it to relieve itching throughout the healing process.

We like to use Ink Balm as soon as the skin heals over and is no longer excreting fluid, usually around day 2 of healing. It's best to start moisturizing your tattoo before it dries out too much to reduce skin damage. After washing your tattoo, dry with paper towels and spray lightly with Ink Spray and allow to air dry. Then apply a thin layer of Ink Balm with freshly washed hands. Apply thin layers as needed to keep your skin moisturized throughout the day. Applying too much Ink Balm can reduce airflow and slow healing time, so we suggest applying less Ink Balm more frequently as you heal.

We also offer a beeswax-free, vegan version of our Ink Balm. Vegan Ink Balm has been recently reformulated with hexane-free sunflower wax to reduce strain on plant populations used to source candelilla wax. We're thrilled with the consistency of the new formula and are happy to offer this vegan alternative.
