Unete Center for Farm Worker Advocacy
NOWIA Unete, Center for Farm Worker Advocacy which began in 1996, is a movement of farm workers and immigrants that strives to empower and enrich the lives of both groups through education, cultural presentations, advocacy, representation in issues that affect their lives and organizing to defend immigrant rights.  UNETE formed due to the need for farm worker representation in legislative actions which would have excluded them from state minimum wage requirements and from their rights to file grievances related to labor violations.  Unete’s goals include working towards:
  1. Organizing the farm workers and Latino immigrants in the Rogue Valley.
  2. Educating the farm workers and Latino immigrants to advocate for themselves by offering  leadership training and building leadership capacity.
  3. Building a strong immigrant’s rights movement.
  4. Building community support for farm worker
    and Latino issues.
  5. Build appreciation and understanding of Latino and indigenous American cultures and traditions.
May Day
The Rogue Valley is a unique agriculture community centered around small farms dependent on Latino immigrant labor. The struggles for worker + immigrant rights is so vital to our local community here in Southern Oregon and in all farming communities.
Help us celebrate May Day by honoring historic labor struggles and supporting current movements for labor rights!

Women's Crisis Support Team Fundraiser for International Women's Day!

Women's Crisis Support Team Fundraiser for International Women's Day!

In honor of International Women's Day, we’re donating all of today’s sales to the Women’s Crisis Support Team here in Grants Pass.

WCST provides 24/7 crisis support, safe shelter, advocacy, education and countless other services to help end domestic violence and sexual assault. Leaving an abusive situation can feel overwhelming and impossible, especially when isolated and alone. Whether one needs assistance obtaining a restraining order, fleeing a crisis situation or assistance in family court, WCST helps those in our community with an inclusive and nonjudgmental attitude. WCST understands that recovery can be long and offers group support for survivors and long-term advocacy for families even after they have left the shelter. WCST strives to support those most at-risk in our community and offers their services to trans women as well.

WCST is an invaluable resource in our small town and we’re thrilled to support them again this year. Happy International Women’s Day!
